This job was for the absolute nicest couple ever. They were patient throughout the whole process, which included tearing up sections of their basement floor to install concrete piers that were needed to basically hold up the back section of the house. What we thought was going to be a fairly simple job got complex very quickly when we opened a wall and discovered that someone years ago had cut out a section of the main support beam for the second floor to create more headroom in the stairwell. This hacking weakened the beam to failure and caused about three inches of drop to everything that relied upon it. Unfortunately I was so amazed by this I forgot to take pictures. Doh!
Bathrooms and Tilework
2 09 2009The green and black was the first tile job I worked on. I loved this color combo, very classic southside looking. The black and white tile job was another cool classic looking bathroom. I’ve worked with a bunch of other color palettes but these two jobs were by far my favorites.

Lindell Blvd.
1 09 2009Lindel Blvd on the Northeast corner of Forest Park.
Three stories of pretty stylish 60’s/70’s digs turned into some very comfortable modern living space.
I spent nearly a year at this home.
We removed an existing mantle and created a brand new one to match the pre-existing mantles from other parts of the house.
Also built a ventilated/insulated enclosure for a huge plasma tv in the wall above the fireplace.
We installed a beautiful cedar deck onto a third story roof, and created a new air-conditioned porch with sound and
lights in one of the stone enclosures on the end of the house.
The floor plan of the house was completely redone and the client wanted to retain the original built in cedar closets to reuse in the redone bedrooms and walkin closet/bath space.
Thee first floor had us redo most of the water damaged ceilings as well as mimic a good deal of the salvageable woodwork with handmade three and four piece crown and base.
Also installed what is by far the most expensive kitchen I’ve been a part of to date.
Seriously it was silly expensive, but looked freaking amazing when it was done.
This job, while being pretty stressful at times due to the time restraints and sheer size, was an amazing opportunity that I’m truly grateful to have been a part of.
Now here’s a million pictures that probably make very little sense, but I’ll try to annotate them as best I can.
Starts with The Kitchen then some of the framing followed by closet rebuilds and random woodwork and finally pics of the mantle and it’s design sources in white.

Southside Mansion…
1 09 2009This work is at a friends house who wanted to use materials pulled from other parts of the house and houses of equal age. It was great to work with hundred plus year old material and get to design whatever I wanted within the framework of what she wanted.
