This job was for the absolute nicest couple ever. They were patient throughout the whole process, which included tearing up sections of their basement floor to install concrete piers that were needed to basically hold up the back section of the house. What we thought was going to be a fairly simple job got complex very quickly when we opened a wall and discovered that someone years ago had cut out a section of the main support beam for the second floor to create more headroom in the stairwell. This hacking weakened the beam to failure and caused about three inches of drop to everything that relied upon it. Unfortunately I was so amazed by this I forgot to take pictures. Doh!
